Feria de Maiz Criollo

Patzcuaro, Michoacan, Mexico

From 25-27 of February, the first Feria de Maiz Criollo (wild corn fair) will be held in Patzcuaro, Michoacan in Mexico. Because maiz plays such an important part in the history and culture of Mexico, the awareness of how important the availibility of wild maiz plants is, is increased during this fair. Many aspects are related to design and craft, from maiz as a material to work with, to maiz as a symbol which is communicated in art and graphic design in many ways. LADF supports the preservation of knowledge of craft techniques and the availability of authentic materials that designers can work with.

The poster for the Feria de Maiz was designed in collaboration with LADF by graphic designer Carlos Villasenor from Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico. Via the link you can see more of his work.
