What was the exhibition about? hOLAnDA - 2005 showed products and gave a good impression on what Latin American Design can mean for people today. We showed which Latin American designers and companies make interesting products. The main goal was to organize a cultural event that will put Latin American Design, in all its diversity, (again) on the map in Europe. And this succeeded very good!
Who made this possible?

First, of course all designers that participated! They did not only put time and effort in this event to make it happen, but they also invested in it by paying for their transport and taxes. All designers that participated became a partner of creating success together. And it worked!

The investments that they made were supported with the help of some great sponsors. Each sponsor didn't contribute to LADF, but directly to the designers themselves, so all contributions directly went were they were needed most: Hamburg Sud sponsored the Brazilian contingent with a container from Sao Paulo to Rotterdam and the Mexican Embassy supported Mexican Designers to bring their products to Holland, and they sponsored the opening ceremony with snacks, drinks and an opening speech from the Mexican ambassador in the Netherlands, Sra. Sandra Fuentes.

Then of course, there are contributions by great individuals. Hes Siemelink and Valeria Vallarta from Metro Sur were our partners in building up and organizing everything. Constanza Miranda from Santiago de Chili helped LADF with administrative organisation and communication. Caroline and Remco offered us their atelier space to prepare the display materials. Ourt family members made many extra hours helping, taking care of kids and jumping in activities were nobody else showed up to help. More than 33 great volunteers from various countries helped setting up and breaking down the exhibition, or assisted in the great fashion show on saturday night. Without them, LADF could not have done this.

And finally, the LADF board worked on this exhibition for months, day and night. But we asked for it....
