The official poster of hOLAnDA 2003 and the Dog The poster and invitations For hOLAnDA 2003, a line of communications materials was developed by the LADF exhibition team. To produce the poster, material and online materials, it created numerous discussions in the team and design proposals were mailed to all members of the team, trying to convince each other of the genuity of them. In the end, Eduardo Perez, Arno Wolters (you see his hand in the picture) and Gabriela Bustamante were responsible for the final designs. Here you can see the results... The poster for the exhibition (click for enlargement) The Dog Part of the design was ...'the dog'. The dog was designed and send in for hOLAnDA 2003 by Colombian Designer Juan Serrano under the title 'Arte Perro'. LADF was immediately attracted by the idea behind it: in these days of Playstations, Gameboys and other high tech toys, we sometimes forget that a lot of joy can come from the imagination of kids that play with simple toys which are able to stimulate this imagination. A design doesn't need to be technically sophistacated to be great. A combination between creativity, use of resources that are available for everyone, awareness of traditions and a good story can make a great Latin American Design. This was one example for us that we used to express these values in our logo. Juan Serrano has let us adopt his Colombian streetdog, of which we are thankful for. During the exhibition, many kids asked for the dog, which is the best compliment this design could get! |
