Virtual Designers Meeting

By Jeroen Nas, november 2002.

On November 1st, 2002, a group of designers from all over the world gathered for a virtual chat session organized by the LADF. The members that were able to participate this time were Pedro Alan Martinez (o2 Mexico in Cuernavaca, Morelos), Laura Gomez (Guia Mexicana de Diseno in Mexico City)(see picture below), Arno Wolters (Def 3 Amsterdam in Holland), Gabriela Bustamante (LADF in Amsterdam ) and Jeroen Nas (LADF in Amsterdam)(see first picture). The main objective of this chat, apart from having a good time being together in a virtual way, was to improve the list of projects planned for 2003 and discuss the way we fill in the goals of the foundation right now.

One of the main projects in the LADF-agenda is the Exhibition of Latin American Design in Holland, which main goal is the diffusion of Latin American design in Europe. The chat group made a lot of progress defining what the focus of the exhibition should be and how the process of selection for new products would work. More will be available on this site in a few weeks.

LADF will further try to organize some workshops in Holland and Mexico in the coming months. Some workshops will be with well known designers names, but always accessable to anyone interested.

The rest of the agenda was filled with more projects in Chiapas, Brazil and other future projects, of which the results will show up on this website in the coming months.

Do you want to participate in one of these virtual chat sessions, or directly in one of the projects, then please contact us.
